We continue to experience a wide fluctuation between freezing and thawing. Yesterday we had a very heavy snowfall of ~20cm. While the ice thickness is sufficient to support people in many areas, the weight of the snow is pushing the ice down and creating deep slush on top of the ice. Crossing any water body by could cause ice build-up on showshoes, skiis or snowmobiles and hypothermia could result if it overflows your footwear.
